Feeling meh? Need a musical kick in the rear to get a move on? I’ve got just the thing! Actually, make that seven things, because I couldn’t feature only one (plus, seven is a superb number).
The electropop songs you’ll find here often swim around in my brain and force my feet to tap long after they’ve ended, which is a huge indication they’re catchy and fun. Do me a favor and listen, okay? I want to know which one wormed its way into your memory the most. Let’s a-go!
1.
Artist: Born Gold
Song: Lawn Knives
Sounds Like: Liquid rainbows bubbling from your speakers into a multicolored puddle that eventually swallows you whole.
2.
Artist: Ghostland Observatory
Song: Dancing on My Grave
Sounds Like: Stepping out of a time machine onto the stage of a Queen concert in an alternate universe where Freddie Mercury dabbles in indie pop.
3.
Artist: Simian Mobile Disco
Song: Audacity of Huge
Sounds Like: Clever alliteration and wordplay bursting from an insta-grow tablet with every involuntary foot tap.
4.
Artist: Majestyy
Song: The Notion
Sounds Like: Everything 80’s music should have been, mixed with choice cuts from modern electronica and dance songs.
(Side note: Majestyy is Brian Jacobs’ solo project. Jacobs was a founding member of the short-lived group Apes & Androids, one of my all-time favorites, and I think you’ll really dig Majestyy if you’re going through A & A withdrawals like me. If you haven’t heard any Apes & Androids, then go listen to their album right fucking now because it’s spectacular).
5.
Artist: Emil & Friends
Song: Crystal Ball
Sounds Like: Doing the horizontal tango with poppy choruses, steady beats, and ear-pleasing effects… and then leaving satisfied.
6.
Artist: The Sound of Arrows
Song: Nova
Sounds Like: Waking up on a bed of clouds after a night of dancing in your favorite club — and discovering you’ve sprouted wings.
7.
Artist: Win Win
Song: Victim
Sounds Like: A music note’s free-fall from a DJ booth into an unsuspecting ear canal. Maybe electropop is a stretch on this one, but just hush because you’ll like it anyway.

I spend a ton of time digging for new gems on Spotify, by the way, so I reserve the right to share more cool sounds with you in the future. Hope that’s okay with you.
Well, which electronic pop song is your favorite? Tell me in the comments!
